AMEE offers virtual participation in September conference

Comment or submit questions by texting or phoning. A theme of the conference is the future of medical education from an international perspective. If the time is not suitable, join a transmission of the session later in the day.
meet the plenary speakers along with the other online conference participants, following the plenary presentations in a dedicated interactive question and answer sessions. All you need is a broadband connection. If you have a webcam and microphone you will also be seen and heard when you ask a question or comment.

  1. I was pleased to see that it would be possible to attend virtually. I've seen other conferences charging a fee for virtual attendance so I suppose this doesn't seem to unreasonable.

    In some respects we've been spoilt by other education related meetings/conferences held in the UK, US and Canada streaming their conferences for free and making these videos and the presentations available for free afterwards too. Maybe when these meetings are held in Universities where all the necessary kit is in place, this is more feasible. When you're organising a large international conference in a commercial conference centre it's just not possible to make it available for free as the conference overheads are so significant. You get charged for everything in these places. That said I would have thought that some of the keynotes etc could be made available online afterwards as ALT did last year with their keynotes by Martin Bean and others.
